My hair-care routine!!!

As-salaam alaikum lovelies!
Wie geht es euch heute? Heute mache ich meine Haarpflege Routine Post.
How are you doing today? Today, I will be making my Hair-care routine post.

I have a particular routine I really love to follow because it's what I now do unconsciously😂

Step 1: Loosen braids- My hair is almost always in braids so this is usually my first step.

Step 2: Detangle hair- Just lightly run fingers through the hair and loosen any knots. Use a wide tooth comb after that if you feel okay with that.

Step 3: Wash/ Shampoo hair- First, dampen hair then apply the shampoo on scalp. Lightly, scrub the scalp to the roots and work it to the tips. I shampoo twice, the first being the more intense scrub and the second to get rid of any residue. I am not a hair stylist so remember to do what is suitable for your hair and scalp.

Step 4: Rinse hair- Generally use lukewarm water or cold if you prefer. I tend to stay away from heat when it comes to my hair.

Step 5: Apply treatment (optional and treatment must stay on for at least an hour unless otherwise is said)- For a treatment to work, it must stay on the hair and scalp for as long as possible. Treatments are optional because I do not always use a treatment when washing my hair. I do use it most of the time so make sure to check out my post on that as well...

Step 6:Rinse hair- Same process as step 4 but you might want to use warmer water depending on the treatment used. Some treatments contain ingredients that need a little bit of warmth to go of the hair.

Step 7: Condition Hair (conditioner should stay from 5 to 10 minutes)- Apply conditioner to damp hair from the roots to the tips and gently massage. Leave for as long as recommended by the brand you use. Using a wide tooth comb to run through the strands before rinsing makes the hair easier to handle afterwards.

Step 8: Rinse hair- Use water from warm to cold to rinse hair. Avoid the heat not only because of it damaging properties, but also because the conditioner gives your hair a protection of oils and whatnot. Using a shampoo strips whatever oil you have on your hair and scalp and the conditioner tries to replenish that. The hot water will cancel out the conditioner as it will strip the conditioner off your hair.

Step 9: Lightly dry hair- Avoid using towels as they cause more than needed friction between the hair strands leading to breakage ( This is my belief. I don't know if it has been scientifically proven yet due to numerous conflicting ideas). I use a big t-shirt and wear it on my head to soak up the water.

Step 10: Gently detangle and comb the hair from the tips to the roots- Use a detangling spray or a little amount of leave-in conditioner on damp hair before running fingers through the hair. Then, use a wide tooth comb to detangle leftover knots.

Step 11; Method 1: This is for when you have adequate time or you avoid heat the way I do.

Section the hair and comb a section while using hair bands to hold it.

Wrap multiple hair bands on a section to reduce shrinkage

Leave to air dry after applying a thin layer of cream to the scalp.

When fully dry, apply a moderate amount of leave-in conditioner to the hair and scalp.

Part hair and oil scalp.

Massage from the roots till the tips gently.

Comb hair and let the oils and creams be absorbed.

Braid hair or style as needed.

Method 2: This is for when you have limited time or when the hairstyle you plan on doing calls for this. Remember to reduce the amount of artificial heat on the hair.

Section hair and apply the leave-in coditioner

Using a hair dryer, dry the hair with the heat on the lowest setting to prevent any damage and/or apply heat protection spray before drying the hair.

Once the hair is 80% dry, section hair and oil the scalp.

Massage from the roots till the tips gently.

Comb hair and let the oils and creams be absorbed.

Use the dryer on the hair until fully dry.

Braid hair or style as needed.

IMPORTANT:
I try to condition or treat my hair once every 2-3 weeks.
I wash my hair every 4-6 weeks.
My hair practically lives in braids (Do protective hair styles regularly).
I oil my scalp and hair regularly (Every 4-5 days to prevent build up of unwanted oils and residue).
I avoid heat on my hair the way we all avoid Covid-19.
My hair is natural as of now and is probably Type 4c hair.
I'm not a hair stylist!

That was my Hair-care routine. I hope you all enjoyed it. Leave questions and suggestions in the comments section if you do have any. By the way, I will willingly test multiple hair treatments for you guys before recommending so if you have any suggestions...

"I'm sixteen. I repeat sixteen..."

Assalam alaykum my lovelies. It's been a long, long time but I'm back temporarily. Wie geht's? Yeah, I'm learning German .  So... my dressing. Guys being mature is a good thing right? At least looking mature should be a good thing right?! As you all know I'm in Lagos right now learning German and well... I've been told some weird stuff in this little period of time. It's a known fact that my dressing is on the conserved side meaning that I limit my dressing and I watch what I wear and stuff like that. Well... when did I start looking like someone's mother or someone's wife? I mean, I went to pick my cousins up from school and from afar, her friends  (referring to my female cousin) claimed that the lady they were seeing(Me) must be her mother (my aunt). You can imagine my reaction when she relayed this to me. I almost went ballistic. Some days before that day, I went to the super market. So some people doing advertising for a company that pr...

Why I'm not in a relationship

Hi guys. It's honestly been a while. Anyways I'm not in university yet. Butttttttt... I have decided to do a post on why I'm not in a romantic relationship.    First and foremost , I'm a Muslim. It's not really needed for me to have more than the simple interactions I need to have with the opposite gender in this day and age. Please don't get me wrong here. I have a lot of male friends but I honestly know where to draw the line. Secondly ,  I'm kind of an introvert. It's weird but I trust people so easily but they end up easily hurting me. I have the phobia of getting hurt. I'm afraid of a broken heart so I always over-think relationship proposals which hurts both of us in the end which I happen to apologise for. Thirdly and finally,  I'm the kind of girl that wants a serious relationship. Due to the reasons I gave above, it's kind of obvious that I'm not looking for something casual, or something I'm doing just bec...

Relationship Advice From A Single Girl #2 : REBOUNDS!

Assalam alaikum. Hi guys. It's been a while and I thought why not continue with the relationship talk. One of my friends once told me that the best relationship advice comes from single people. That, my lovelies, is what motivated me to write this post. Any way this is post 2 of the relationship series and beware: My ideas might be biased based from the way I was raised, to my religion and just my way of viewing things as a person. My advice might most definitely not work for you but it won't hurt to read the point of view of others.  Today's talk is about *drum roll please* Rebounds. I as a person happen to experience crushes despite the fact that in a lot of cases I wish I didn't. Anyway, *at this point everyone can see that I use the word anyway too much😅* after being ignored and pushed away by one of my crushes/friends, a lot of people that happen to be my close friends said that I deserve better. And I quote " I wouldn't advice you to use advice giv...
